Most guys like trucks and we would all have a classic if we could. I can’t afford one but I can afford parts! Here’s what I did.
I found an old tailgate from a 1950’s Chevy truck and cleaned it up just a little. I didn’t want it to look like a show piece. I like the patina of old wood and metal.
I lightly sanded the letters then used a foam brush to apply satin finish enamel. When it was dry, I cleaned up my mistakes, the sanded wear spots on the letters. I tried hard to match the sheen of the letters to the sheen of the red paint.
The finished project. (Almost) I’m adding rusty chain to hang it with.
