Table salvage project (Part 1)

Auction sign picture  I love estate auctions. Especially out in the country.

You just don’t know what you’ll find or who you’ll meet.

Saturday my wingman Dylan and I hit an auction. But not before breakfast…

Breakfast at Waffle House

Dylan was quick to observe that there didn’t seem to be much there. That’s 7 year old code for let’s get out of here.

There wasn’t much of a crowd so I was sure I’d hit a bargain.

I scored an old ugly table and 4 chairs for $15. I had to actually buy two tables in order to get what I wanted. The other one had good legs so OK I’d wind up with some spare parts for another project.

Here’s what we started with;
table top cropped
Nasty Formica top over particle board…

This what I was after. Good legs and skirt of poplar.

Disassembly has started and sanding has begun.
